How often do you weigh yourself?

Recommended Posts

My Nut. recommended that I only weigh myself once per week but im not sure if I'll even weigh myself that often. Id rather try on clothes in my closet and be surprised when they are loose! I have so many sizes of clothes in my house, I can probably lose 40 pounds or so before I'll start running out of things to wear.

I'm less interested in my weight than my size but I want to make sure I'm staying on track. I guess I'll see what my dr. recommends when I go in for pre-op appt.

I don't weigh myself.

I only get weighed when I go to the doctors for something.

I just rely on how my clothes fit.

I think weighing yourself often is self defeating.

Your weight fluctuates to much that you might get discouraged if it doesn't say what you want it to say.

Good luck with your surgery when it happens.

I weigh myself once a week, mainly because I need to log my weight for the weight loss challenges here. But even if wasn't doing the challenges I would still weigh myself weekly, to see my progress and to make sure I am not going in the wrong direction. :)

I weighed once a month. I always saw losses and wasn't disappointed. So many folks get discouraged when the inevitable stalls occur. I never saw them which helped to keep me motivated.

I weigh myself every Monday morning after I pee. The scale stays under the bathroom sink. Out of sight,

Out of mind ;-)

I might be the crazy one here but I weigh myself every day. I guess you could say that I'm kind of obsessed with the scale. I love (with a capital L-O-V-E) seeing how much I weigh now after being overweight for so long. It sometimes makes me giggle.

even I weigh myself daily...I am afraid....suppose I put on and don't realize it...better to be aware of changes on a daily basis.I have always been weighing daily.even before the surgery.

For the first seven months or so I only weighed myself every couple of weeks, if that. Now that I am getting closer to goal, I weigh myself every day but only record it on MFP on Saturdays. Once I get into maintenance, I want to be in the habit of weighing every day and taking that weight as information, not as a victory or a defeat to be handled emotionally. My plan for maintenance is to weigh every day and immediately go into weight loss mode if I get more than 3 lbs over my goal weight. So I need to make this a habit, and learn to use the information rather than freak out about it, now. But early out, weighing infrequently was definitely better for me.

I weigh myself every morning. However I only count (log) what it says Monday morning. I'm 7 months out and I've been doing this since day one. Once I get to my goal (15 lbs to go) I'm going to try once a week.

This subject is definitely a personal preference for each individual. Some need to weigh daily to stay accountable, so long as seeing the fluctuations do not put that person in a bad state of mind, the scale can be a fabulous tool for keeping things moving in the right direction.

The only danger in NOT weighing regularly is ignoring the scale all together when someone has "been bad" so not to see the damage caused. This is how I gained weight, and was a really bad idea.

I weigh daily. When I was in weight loss mode I only recorded my weight on Fridays. I need the daily check in to keep bad eating habits at bay. If it's higher than I want, I don't beat myself up, I just adjust my eating till I like what I see.

I think I'm obsessed with the scale. I weigh everyday. That just started when I got my lapband to sleeve revision. Before that, I weighed like a normal person, once a week.

Not sure why I'm not patient enuf to wait for that once a week weigh in. During my biggest losing period, I was satisfied with weekly weigh ins. Now I think I weigh everyday to catch even a 1 lb gain. I don't want it to snow ball on me with a 5 lbs gain.

Good luck!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
