When do you get more energy?

Recommended Posts

When do you get more energy? I am 7 weeks post op. I feel the same. People ask me how I feel, like I should feel amazing and I do not. I have lost over 40 pounds, and never had any issues, no sickness or throwing up ect... But, I think I should more energy then when I did 40 pounds ago- How have you all been energy wise?

I wouldn't say I have any more energy now than 179lbs ago, but that could be down to my depression or not taking my Vitamins daily. I have got more stamina now, but I certainly don't bound around the place!

You're only 7 weeks out from a major operation and your calorie intake will be low. Take it easy and stay hydrated.

I feel the same way. My surgery was 2/24 and I just don't feel like doing anything. I know I need to exercise but I just can't make myself do it. I have lost 38 lbs. I start to worry about the lack of calories daily and what if my body is trying to conserve and not let me lose weight now. I haven't lost anything in a week and I am a little down due to Constipation and lack of food.< /p>

I had band to sleeve revision on 11/27/13 and Honestly, I didn't start feeling like I had more energy until late February. I have fibromyalgia so I am tired often, but after Feb/March, I found I was the one wanting to go for a walk or do a household project. Give it some time. Some people don't feel more energized for up to 6 months....

I'm the same way, was sleeved 2/18/14 lost about 32. I have no energy, so today I made an appointment to see a trainer, and get on a exercise program. I really never had any issues with food or feeling nauseous. I do have arthritis in my ankle so walking is painful. I never liked exercising I do enjoy biking. Hopefully the trainer will work with me on light weights and low impact workouts. I don't have any motivation I hope to change that!

My doc told me no excersise except for walking. I would like to get out and do more so cant wait for him to tell me I can.

Joining the YMCA or any place that has a pool. Get in and swim. I joined the YMCA June 2013. Did my 6 months of Dr.appts. and all the other requirements my insurance wanted. I did an hour a day in the pool. So much easier on the joints etc. Plus it is a great resistance workout.the day of surgery Dec 26th. I lost 65 lbs. This Thursday will be 16 weeks post op. I have lost another 110 lbs. I still do 45-60 minutes in pool everyday. Then lift for about 20 minutes. Upper body 1 day. Lower body next day. Now that weather is getting better. I walk 3- 6 miles per day. Generally in weekends. This also wrapped around a 55 hr plus work week. The energy will come but you need to do what your team says. I haven't wavered from Vitamins etc. I have tried a few foods that didn't go well. Won't do those again. Water water water. I drink over 100 Oz's a day. I am now off all preop meds. Only thing I take are vitamins. BP in check. Cholesterol in check. Type 2 diabetes. Gone. My team gave me a tool and I am using this tool to its fullest potential.

Very pleased to report I do have more energy! I think my energy levels were noticeably higher by the 3 month post-op mark. Like pat fitz above, I do exercise, and I certainly attribute much of the energy boost to the exercise. I can feel the effects of not exercising if I skip more than 2 days. I feel myself getting annoyed and impatient more quickly when I don't do something physical. I'm not an exercise-lover by nature, other than riding my bike or doing yard work, which I enjoyed even when I was heavier. But I'm a devotee to the 30 minute express circuit at Planet Fitness, which I do 2-3 times per week, and I also do a jogging-in-place/marching in place routine with hand weights in front of the television several times a week. I just make sure I find a good series on Netflix that I haven't seen before, and only allow myself to watch it if I'm exercising! Exercising was definitely tough post-op, but I can now lift a lot more than I could pre-op, which I'm proud of. I'm dreaming of sculpting sexy shoulders!!! :)

I only just started feeling normal at 3 months. Now at 4 months, I finally have at least as much energy as preop.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
