You should really work within your team

Hi,

It's really best that you stay where you are because they all work as a team.

I know there is an extra cost to you but the dietitian works with the surgeon to make sure that you are getting the best support that you can have.

They coordinate your treatment.

Best of luck to you in your surgery.

The hospital where I had my surgery done was almost 2 hrs from where I live. I just couldn't make all the appointments, so I just chose to get lots of things done right around my area, which my insurance was fine with as long as the surgeon gave me a script. As far as the nut I worked out with her that on my appointment days when I would see the surgeon, I would go to her after, she also worked with me over the phone so it all worked out fine. Maybe you can do the same. Good luck!

I would ask the surgeon his thoughts. In my case, my surgeon worked directly with this NUT practice to develop a plan that he approves. Fortunately, my NUT is also covered under my insurance. Your surgeon may have a more general approach and would be OK with you going to another NUT. I would just ask him for his opinion. He may have a booklet (mine does) that he would give you to take to the new NUT so they could counsel you on it.
