MsVictorious1020 497 Posted April 14, 2014 Hello all. I need some help. I had not had a bm in a few days so I took a laxative and now I'm experiencing horrible stomach pains like not your ordinary pains associated with taking a laxative. A sharp pain in my gut. Like stemming from my belly button. Have any of you experiences anything like this? I'm terrified I did something wrong. I'm headed to the urgent care shortly. kyleebean 209 Posted April 14, 2014 Any pain in your back~ like radiating around to your back? Could be trapped gas or twisted bowels, could be your gallbladder or could be some serious BM..... But if you are in that much pain, you are wise to go to urgent care.
soocalchic 1,087 Posted April 14, 2014 How far out are you? When did you have surgery? Unless it was very recently I wouldn't be too concerned if you haven't had A BM in several days you can just have an impacted or very solid piece that is trying to get worked out. Drink lots of Water stay hydrated it will get your bowels moving.
elfnow 277 Posted April 14, 2014 There can be serious sudden problems like a sudden twist in the bowel... Have you passed gas lately? Get to urgent care. If you haven't passed gas within the last 24 hours they need to know that. ER might be a better plan.

MsVictorious1020 497 Posted April 14, 2014 Thank you all. This is terrible pain. I had a bm and passed gas multiple times. Lmfao. Sorry for gross details. It's just a sharp pain radiating from my belly button. It surges upwards and towards my back.
MsVictorious1020 497 Posted April 14, 2014 Additionally my gallbladder was removed in 2007. So I know it's not that.
BusyMomof03 2 Posted April 14, 2014 There are certain laxatives that will do that to me...horrible pain, goosebumps etc. For me I will continue to cramp until all the poo is gone =/ An enema helps clear you out quicker so you start to feel better
Domika03 309 Posted April 14, 2014 More than likely, based on what you're telling us, it is BM related. Gas pain can be quite, well, painful. Some of the laxatives they have out there tend to make you cramp more than others. A few suggestions that might be gentler on your tummy: Drink plenty of fluids Walk around even if it's in your house. This helps with gas pains Colace pills (take 2 per day for a few days. It will definitely help) Smooth Move Tea (usually gives me a BM by the next morning) Adding flaxseed to anything warm you drink (mix it really well) On a funnier note, did you ever think you'd be talking about pooping with complete strangers? That's why this is a great web site! You can ask anything you want & people will typically be willing to help you! Good luck! Hope things go 'smoothly!" 2 MsVictorious1020 and Anababy reacted to this
Teachamy 1,042 Posted April 15, 2014 Once you get this figured out, I recommend Fiber Gummy supplements. I take 2 a day, unless I didn't have a BM the day before, then I take 3-4. They taste like a treat and they keep me regular. 1 MsVictorious1020 reacted to this
