I'm three weeks out tomorrow and I was just logging my food on myfitnesspal and realized a small Greek yogurt is 5 ounces. I just ate that in half an hour!

Have I stretched my sleeve already? I was drinking Water with it (I know, I know).

Help please!

I hope that's it! I just wasn't thinking about it at all. Gee I wonder how I got to be fat. Lord.

Yogurt is a slider. You can fit more in quicker than solid foods. Don't worry! You'll see it when you eat something more solid.

You are only 3 weeks out. Your staple line is not even healed yet. Please stop being "stupid"

I'm getting kinda irritated with these holier than thou posts, putting people down for trying a nibble of bread. All of us were such suckers for food that we let ourselves get grossly overweight, and suddenly we're supposed to be super vigilant with no mistakes for weeks before and after surgery. Jesus people. She ate a bite of bread. It hurt, she learned.

My post was made out of concern for her welfare. I wasn't trying to put her down. The term stupid was a quote directly from her previous post. And yes, from a healing and avoiding complications standpoint, I think it's in our own best interest to be "super vigilant" immediately after this surgery. It has nothing to do with being "holier than thou". You shouldn't compete in a boxing match with a concussion, a diabetic shouldn't sit around and eat candy bars, if you are allergic to shellfish you shouldn't chow down on oysters. At 3 weeks post op eating stuff until you hurt just to test yourself is not simply cheating on a diet or going over your carb limit for the day... You are potentially doing damage to an unhealed surgical site. That was the motivation behind my post. Sorry you were offended.

I am only 2 weeks out and my doctor had me stay on a clear liquid diet so that my new little tummy would have more time to heal before full liquids. Your stomach line takes months to fully heal so be kind to your body and follow the doctor's diet plan. Your stomach is a muscle and YES it will stretch or even worse you could cause yourself to get a leak!

Yes, we are all concerned about our welfare, and it doesn't hurt to remind people that they are still healing, but sometimes text doesn't come across in the way you intend, and it can sound like a put down if you aren't careful with your words. I can call myself stupid, but I'd rather nobody else do it!

Maybe if people read their words aloud, and imagine saying them to someone's face before they hit that post button, they might think twice about what they wrote. I nearly swore off this site recently due to some "helpful" criticism. I was already depressed, and those comments just made me feel worse about myself rather than helping.

Well I know I shouldn't have done it. I'm not offended. It didn't hurt my sleeve at all, it hurt my esophagus. I had it with Soup and Water and dipped it in the Soup so it wasn't completely dry.

I don't even know why I did that. It's the first time I have eaten something I shouldn't have since the week before surgery.

I felt like it was just sitting there in my esophagus forever.

I think I just got scared that my sleeve was already huge and I got soup at a restaurant that came with bread. I tore out the inside and had the soft part too.

Well I can say my sleeve is really small and now I'm going to tell them to keep their bread.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
