Anyone feeling dizzy and faint like

Recommended Posts

I've had my surgery April 2,2014 and a week later I started to feel sick. Dr ran test and everything seems to be fine. But I'm always feeling dizzy and when I stand up I feel like I'm going to faint. Even when I'm in the shower. I cannot stand up for a long period of time. Has anyone felt like this.

now I'm not so sure. I'm drinking my Protein and Water but I'm not so sure if I'm drinking enough water now. I drink about 1 or 1 1/2 of the regular bottle of water this really sucks. I hate this feeling

Yes, its called orthostatic hypotension. Did you have high blood pressure in the past? Are you still on meds? My BP was going way too low and that's what happens. Malnutrition has caused it for me also.

no. No high blood pressure. No meds. I just started to feel like this on fri or sat. Prior to that I had came down with a fever and a bad headache. I went to the dr. We ran all kind of test. And nothing was wrong.

Did they check the inner ears also? I have ear damage and that can cause it. Or did they guess the flu/cold?

no. I didn't have any of that. Every test came back fine.

I felt dizzy dizzy for about 6 weeks. Nothing was wrong thankfully and my surgeon said it's just the body adjusting to so few calories. Just be sure you get in all the fluids you can.

You should start taking Vitamins ASAP!

I think our bodies have a hard time adjusting to the huge decrease in calories and processing all the toxins and hormones that are being released by our fat cells.

I would start on vitamins and measure your Water to be sure you get 64 oz a day of Fluid.

I hope you feel better soon!

Could be low blood sugar as well. I was done on 3/31 and having trouble keeping my blood sugar up. I'm not a diabetic so wasn't on any meds to adjust. My nutritionist told me to drink 4 oz of full strength fruit juice once a day and that seemed to help. Also I don't think you're very well hydrated.

As said befor this is orthostatic hypotension. Your body will adjust after awhile. Just work on getting your fluids in and get up very slowly so your body can adjust to change in position. It will get better over time. Since you had doctor check you out and nothing wrong just be patient and it will get better. Just slow down when changing position.

I agree, it's normal with lower BP readings. Mine has been less lately but worse in the second month post op.

Nearly 7 months out and I still get dizzy. No matter how I've tried, I still can't isolate it to one thing....

Or maybe it's the combination of things, specific to each body.

I don't know. I'm still working on this...

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
