nmccarthy 11 Posted April 14, 2014 Did anyone workout prior to surgery? I am lifting weights 2-3 days a week and trying to walk at least 4 times a week .
BusyMomof03 2 Posted April 14, 2014 My surgery is in a month and I have been doing 20-30 minutes on the treadmill 6x a week (I took today off)
Chelly 364 Posted April 14, 2014 I did before surgery. I went 5x a week to the gym. Helped me loose more weight then I was required to before my surgery. Keep going and good luck with your surgery.
2muchfun 8,927 Posted April 14, 2014 (edited) I'm no physiologist, and I haven't practiced medicine or played doctor since I was 6, but I think you should be cleared to workout till your hearts content before surgery. tmf Edited April 14, 2014 by 2muchfun 3 Ginger Snaps, Danni-doinit4me and terrydumont46 reacted to this
kimk1999 450 Posted April 14, 2014 (edited) Are you talking about the morning of surgery or just in general prior to surgery? For insurance reasons (couldn't lose too much or they wouldn't pay) I didn't exercise leading up to it or definitely the morning of as my time was super early. But the healthier you are prior to surgery the better off you'll be. Edited April 14, 2014 by kimk1999
