Success after 5 years?

Recommended Posts

Have heard many of stories of gaining the weight back. Does anyone have a success story of losing the weight and keeping it off. I understand a few pounds but is it really possible to keep the majority of the weight off?

@@kimpatcan

yes!!!!

gaining a little weight back???

sure you can

12/2011 i had my surgery - lost 105 lbs (GOAL)

now 2+ years post op i fluctuate3-5 lbs over goal

some people have gained more :o

but..............many more continue to do great, and don't gain

you must always stay on your toes

the sleeve is not a magic pill

you must always be diligent with your eating for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life

that being said...........if you gain some weight, going back to basics

working hard again, getting back on track you "should" be able to lose the weight

ou work with the sleeve - and the sleeve will work for you :)

sounds like you are pre-op

i understand you being curious about possible regain

but you haven't even had surgery yet

work hard with the rules et al post surgery

if you "want/must" think about possible gain at some time

use that thought as a reminder/motavator that you must stay true to yourself and your new life by eating correctly

good luck :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
