Brush your teeth every time you feel the urge to eat! Nothing taste good with a minty fresh mouth. Do not jeopardize your surgery for a craving. You have come so far don't stop now!! The liquid diet is hard and if it were easy we wouldn't need weight loss surgery would we? I know it is hard having that internal struggle but you can beat it!! Do not let food control you anymore, you got this!!

Just when you want to give up, think about all the work that went into this process. I know it is hard, but anything hard is always worth it in the long run. If you need a change in what you are drinking try GNC Lean 25 shakes. They have 200 calories for 2 scoops and I usually only use one. Very filling and absolutely delicious. Maybe changing things up will help the craving to cheat. Just remember, you can do this and we are all here to help support you. Just think of it as a marriage. You're new lifestyle is a "til death do you part" situation.

Hello, With your surgeon does Clear Liquids mean only Water? With mine it means light liquids not any milk products and no red dye. I must drink Gatorade the last thing before 12 midnight.

You are only two days out! This is amazing for you! This is the last total crap diet you will ever have to face alone, without your sleeve to help! Believe me, post op can have different kinds of challenges, but there was nothing more challenging for me than pre-op, in terms of my head continuing its wicked, whiny little snot-nosed cry to "feed me!" Your next phase will be a wild success!

I know exactly how you feel! I'm on day 4 of 7 and yesterday was really bad. I'm supposed to be on liquids only, but I caved and ate a can of white meat chicken with some hot sauce (weird combo, I know). I chewed it until it was almost gone and it IS pure Protein with no carbs, so I guess it wasn't as bad as it could have been. I still feel guilty though.

Stay strong! You're so close. Don't jeopardize it now. Think of being slimmer and feeling better - that's the only thing that's been keeping me sane!

Thank you for the motivation :) I'm really starting to realize just how dependent I am on food. This process is painful physically & mentally. But I CAN DO THIS!! ( gonna keep repeating that to myself ;) )

So I feel like I've gotta eat a salad or something.. I've been doing 80 ounces of Water a day, Protein Shakes & little bits of granola, if I feel myself getting light headed. But I have never craved a salad & grilled chkn breast like I do at this moment. I get my sleeve on 4/25/14... I feel like I need to eat NOW :(

I am seriously jealous of those of you who get to eat anything...I'd love to have a salad, or piece of chicken...something. Agh. Tomorrow I HAVE to be perfect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
