NewLife4Me7 110 Posted April 12, 2014 Was told by a psychiatrist my meds would have to be taken more frequently because of the surgery. Something how the meds are absorbed quickly. Have you heard of this? I have not been depressed for over 2 yrs. and don't want to be playing with my meds.
Carlotta1 401 Posted April 12, 2014 I do take 2 "anti irritability" meds prescribed by my physchatrist And had no change in how I feel after the sleeve. I would suggest to wait how u feel after a couple of weeks after surgery ..before changing anything. That is just my humble opinion.
LindafromFlorida 1,542 Posted April 12, 2014 My husband and I take plenty of meds and this does not sound right. I take 1 Zanax a day. I would talk to the surgeon, the primary doctor, and the psychiatrist without telling them what the other said. You should be able to adapt your body to the meds or you will know something isn't right. You can probably figure this out yourself and do what is right for you. Good luck! 1 my2chinagirls reacted to this

DSwitcher 35 Posted April 16, 2014 The sleeve is the perfect answer to those who must take meds. It is not malabsorptive and does not interact with most people's meds. That having been said, for me, it was the worst choice because there is no malabsorption and my meds make it hard to lose weight especially after the sleeve ceased to function... Consult with your Dr for your particular situation... rdc
fatrosie 176 Posted April 16, 2014 I had to stop one of my meds completely because it did not agree with my sleeve at all. I also had to change one of my meds from extended release to the regular kind and take it 2x/day instead of once in the am. No big deal though, it was worth it for the surgery. 1 Finally17 reacted to this
