Just wondering how some of you have used the strawberry sorbet unjury Protein powder. The bottle says use in Water or lemonade, but I wonder if anyone has used it in milk? I just tried some in Water, and it's ok.

I use one half cup of Premier vanilla Protein Shake, 1/2 c light soy milk, 1 scoop of the Unjury strawberry Sorbet Protein Powder, and vanilla Torani SF, about 1 Tb. (I have been unable to find the strawberry Torani. ) I put it in my magic bullet and blend well, then put it into the frozen turning Cuisinart , and let it spin about 5 minutes, then I had about 3 nice sized finely chopped strawberries and let it turn until the ice cream climbs up the dasher and won't go down. I either eat it then or dish it up and put in the freezer for about 30 min. Yes, you get the whole thing....

That sounds good! Wish I had an ice cream maker. I think today I'm going to try it in vanilla almond milk, and also mix it into some Jello. Time to get creative!

Mmmm this sounds like a good excuse to buy the ice cream maker to go with my kitchen aid mixer. She (my kitchen aid) hasn't gotten much play time since my surgery.

Torani is a coffee Syrup that they use in flavored coffees. We use the sugar free. It can be found in various flavors in the coffee section of most grocery or big box stores

It sweetens it!!! and also adds flavor. I often use hazelnut with choc ice cream or caramel.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
