Cstoneking 17 Posted April 11, 2014 Does anyone know how many staples are used for bypass? My friend asked me today and I happened to think "I really don't know"!
alc1071 43 Posted April 11, 2014 I actually didn't have any staples. My surgeon uses steri-strips that just kind of fall off after a couple weeks once the incisions have healed.
Cstoneking 17 Posted April 11, 2014 I had those also on the outside. She was asking about inside... sorry I probably should have said that before. :-)
Chelly 364 Posted April 12, 2014 Interesting question and I would ask the experts like your surgeon's office. I wonder if the surgeon even counts them as he or she is doing the surgery. Let us know please if you get an answer.
mi75 1,235 Posted April 13, 2014 I only know that the staple gun typically has double rows and most surgeons try to do two or three hits, so you can get either four or six rows total of staples. how many is a really good question! i would guess that the scrub nurse from surgery could tell you, or your surgeon. i'm guessing they would be the only ones to know.
