I'm in the medical field.

Recommended Posts

This does apply as I have seen it here. I am a RN with a BSN so please bear with me.

I have had ppl say that they are 'in the medical field'. Being snarky, I ask where they went to school. Suddenly the response is "Oh I didn't go to school" or if I ask and 'I am a nurse', 'where did you go to school?' and the response 'well, I didn't go to school, I'm a cna.' I replied, 'But didn't you just say you're a nurse? Did you just lie to me? "

Why are ppl pawning themselves as something they are not? Which is illegal by the way. Sigh.

I'm never sure how its relevant anyway, even if you are a Dr. You're still here....

A cna is still someone who works in the medical field. I know this is in rants, but I'm a cna, and also in school for nursing, I'd gladly tell people I work in the medical field.

This is the rants forum. I'm pretty sure she can post what she wants.

A medical assistant works in the medical field. I'm a medical assistant and I assist with many medical skills, you said you are a nurse so you should know. I went to a medical

Assistant school for 10 months in Southern California. So please don't say that a MA is not working in the medical field. There is different levels of jobs. But they are all in the medical field.

I dont work anywhere near the medical field, but I don't understand the snobbery. Seems to me all levels of nursing are valuable. Still, not sure its relevant in any discussion. I only care about a nurses expertise if I'm getting direct care from them. We could all go around touting our educational achievements at every opportunity, but that would get old, real quick.

I respectfully disagree. I am and RN. I have a bachelors degree. I've been a nurse for 18 years. Prior to that, a monitor tech, a unit secretary and an admitting clerk. I'm currently the nurse manager of a 30 bed tele floor, 2 10 bed CCU's and a small IMCU. I consider anyone who influences, touches, helps heal, encourages, treats, diagnoses, facilitates discharge, provides security, nourishment -ALL THOSE PEOPLE PROVIDE MEDICAL CARE. It doesn't mean I'd ask the phlebotomist for advice on my cardiac meds, but it's unfair to say they aren't in "healthcare". Healthcare is a broad, broad term. One of my CNA's can connect with patients and bring comfort better than some of my new grads and even vets. I may be misunderstanding you, but it takes a ton of different people to make up "healthcare". My husband has been an X-ray tech for 30 years. He knows more about bones than me. If you mean people give unqualified medical advice on these boards and shouldn't? Yup. It's the internet. Everyone has an opinion.

a CNA is a nurse aid, which makes me working in the medical field.

I get you saying that people lying is dumb, but saying a CNA or MA aren't working on the medical field is some real bullsh!t.

I am a CNA and I consider myself in the medical field. CNA's might be at the bottom of the totem pole. But we have the dirtiest and the hardest job. We are the ones that are right there with the patients day in and day out doing their ADL's. We are the ones that take the most abuse. I have worked with many LPN's and RN's that think that they are better than a CNA and they wouldn't even think about changing someone's brief.

Why aren't CNAs in the medical field? As long as they aren't pretending to be nurses, I'm cool with that answer. I LOVE my CNAs. I wouldn't be a great nurse without them. ;)

I'm a CNA, and also in nursing school. I can't even imagine what a nurse would do without their CNAs. I had to go to school and take take a state test to be able to work in in a nursing home/hospital. Im.just really unsure how that would make me not in the medical field.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
