Zappo 8 Posted April 11, 2014 Hey guys, I've just been discharged from hospital yesterday after having the surgery on Tuesday morning. I've woken up this morning being really dizzy, back aching with slight headache and my whole abdomen is so tender and sore... Is this normal? (It being this sore still since Tuesday) How long should I expect before the pain subsides? Thanks, Aaron
BigGirlPanties 957 Posted April 11, 2014 totally normal... the pain is probably gas...the dizziness could be dehydration so walk, sip, walk, sip, repeat...call your doctor before the weekend sets in just to let them know your concern... they may just tell you the same thing and wait a few days...but I'd at least, call them now before they close. Remember even tho you have just a few "owies" on the outside, you had a lot of work on the inside...it doesn't say which one you had...but I assume it's either sleeve or full gastric.... good luck, it will be ok...but make that call...that, alone, will help you feel better! 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this
BeachBish 123 Posted April 11, 2014 When you say pain ... what number are you describing? a 3 or 4 yes maybe..but if it's 9 or ten you need to call the Dr. this is not soemthing to play around with. I ahd 2 or 3 levels and some discomfort but never PAIN. Yours' sounds serious. ALways better to be safe than sorry. Hope you feel better soon.
Sarahjane79 397 Posted April 11, 2014 You had major surgery 3 days ago. Of course it's normal to have lots of pain. If they gave you pain meds, don't be afraid to take them if you need to I still have to take mine sometimes, and I'm 7 weeks out. 1 BigGirlPanties reacted to this
SuperFab 689 Posted April 11, 2014 Umm... You just got home and are in pain. You just had 85% of a major organ removed. I was in serious pain for a long time. Totally normal. 1 BigGirlPanties reacted to this
SuperFab 689 Posted April 11, 2014 (edited) Not trying to sound harsh with the last post but my pain levels weren't a 3 or 4. More like a 7 or 8. I'd had 4 previous surgeries and given birth and none compared to the pain I felt with this surgery. My bigger incision still hurts and is sometimes a level 7-8 pain. 1 SuperFab reacted to this
