Kathy,

So did I understand your email correctly and Tom (It is Tom, I checked) Eubanks moved to Oregon City? I think Oregon City is right up near the Portland area. If you get a new number for him please pass it on. Thanks, Teresa

I don't know how but I finally got a hold of the right office. I have a appt. for my first fill on my birthday yipee. Oct 25th.

This is the number I have 503-353-3005 they are going to send me directions on how to get there. Some how yesterday I got the other number mixed up and called the other Dr. Eubanks. The girl said she was just getting ready to return my call. She was very nice, I am a little nervous but very ready for a fill. The first visit is 256.00 and all the fills after that 150.00.

Thanks so much for your help Teresa, I am just a little spacey these days. My job is very high stress and it gets me a little crazy now and then.

Kathy

Hi Kathy,

Is that with flouro or something? When I talked to them it was $150 the first fill and $75 for all other fills. The girl I sent to them a few weeks ago came back and said that is what they charged her too, so whats with the price change? Maybe I'll have to give them a call... Let me know how it goes, Teresa

Teresa,

They said that they had new rates. It includes a exam or follow up. She also said that they have been just swamped. She said they are getting new people all the time. She said sometimes he does the flouro just depends. It was a very nice girl that I spoke to. I am so ready, I need a fill. My appetite has increased and I want to get a handle on it now. It still seems very reasonable to me.

Thanks again,

Kathy:)

Teresa he is great you will just love him. I notice a big difference today. Feels good to know that the scale will be going down again soon. I was begining to think I was never going to lose anymore.

I can't thank you enough for referring him.

Kathy,

I am so glad I keep getting such glowing responses about him. I can't wait to meet him. I have been in the dead zone with my weight loss too. I just can't quit putting food in my mouth in the evenings. My Water slacked off during vacation and now I am trying to get back on track with it. Switched to that crystal light mix and its going much easier. I'm hoping that might make the difference for this weigh week but I really need to get back on track with my eating too. When I used to track calories I would notice 2-3 days a week where I ate more than normal and a few days that I ate less than the average. I haven't tracked calories lately but I think that I am eating more days of the higher average than before. Slightly bigger meals and more snacking. I try to make healthy choices but it doesn't always seem to help. Anyway thanks again for trying him out and I'm glad we will have an excellent fill doctor within a reasonable distance. Keep me posted with your fill sensations. Teresa

Hi Kathy and Teresa:

I am also looking for a fill Dr. in Oregon. I was banded on 10-21-04, so not in need as yet. I was told of two, that would take "out of Country" patients:

Dr. Mirande in Klamath Falls $450 per fill

Dr. Tersigne In Coos Bay $350 per fill

Have either of you heard anything about them?

I know that Dr. Eubanks is quite a distance from me, but from your recommendations, he sounds wonderful and maybe I should think about that.

I live in Bandon, right on the Ocean, so Coos Bay would be quite convenient for me, but would like to know a little about him first.

Love this site, it has been so helpful to me since my surgery.

Hello,

I have not personally heard anything good about Dr. Tersigne. Another girl who lives in my area went to him and after using something like a metal (port) detector to find her port he stabbed her 27 times. She now thinks that she may have a leak. I had another friend who had a bypass done by him and it all went awful. She had to have the entire surgery redone within 48 hours. He has made some rude comments to her and I have heard he is not very personable. I have heard of another person who likes him so ????? I know convenience is definitely a factor for fills. You might at least go meet him but I wouldn't let him stab around blindly. Best of luck, Teresa

Hi Sharby and Teresa,

I am doing great since my fill. Hard to get all my Protein in but working on it. It has been a big change. I can't eat much and the scale is going down. Not really going to put a number on in until I go back in. I go again Nov. 22nd. Sometimes I think I might be to tight. He said that he thought it was going to be a good fill for me and so far he is right. I have pb'd twice but I had done that a few times before my fill. Dr. Eubanks and his whole staff are wonderfull. I can't believe how great they made me feel. It takes me about a hour or so to get to his office from home and I can't tell you how good that feels knowing that he is that close.

Best of luck to both of you, let me know how it goes.

Kathy

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
