I recall getting my fills after surgery. I couldn't wait to see if I had better restriction. The suspense was overwhelming and I only lasted about 30 hours till I had to have something solid to see if there was a difference. I usually started with Soup for lunch the next day and if that went well I would go for salmon or chicken for dinner.

Don't be like me, follow your doctors orders

Do like 2mf says. I've always been bad too and usually only make it 24 hours on liquid, and sometimes that's a stretch. I have wondered if that's the reason I'm not in my green zone yet with 6.5CC in my band. I have a fill (no. 7) scheduled for Monday and I'm promising myself I'll be good. So you be strong so I can be strong. I'll be looking Monday to see if you made it and how well your feeling any changes to the restriction.

Me too! Got my fills on Thursdays and eating regular by Saturday! I just had my 5th fill and can finally feel the real restriction. Have got stuck 3 times, as a reminder.. Small bites and chew chew chew! Working together with the band:)

Hi Mikee, that pain in your back/shoulder may be your soft stop signal, something I haven't figured out yet for myself. Great to listen in to your body like that and let it tell you when you've had enough. Exciting times! Glad things are going so well. You are really on your way now. Best wishes!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
