Try jokes about wearing children's clothes, that pants dont go into negative sizes, kids underwear, shrinking away.

Not nice! :(

I have 2 friends who are tiny ( slim ) and they wear clothes that are children's sizes and one wears shoes children's sizes. Both find it difficult to find clothes that look like an adult can wear them but both of them are proud as can be about being small...Believe me they rub it in all the time..like...this is too big for me...it would definitely be too small for you!

It sure can be rough in the real world!

I am starting to learn to try to just walk away..It is hard though I have been picked on so much because of my weight and I just thought that if I lost it the issues of this would be gone... But no there is always some one out there who has an opinion. Whether kind or not!

I did not even have a bypass. But you know what I didn't enlighten her either. I just sulked and felt like I need to get some very high turtleneck shirts...... :(

I was told last night that I looked 'normal'.

This was in response to my asking, because I was curious about third party perception, as to whether I stood out as an overweight 'big girl' any more. I am, admittedly, always going to be 'big girl', being 5ft 10 and with shoulders like a hod carrier.

It was the highest compliment since my surgery anyone could have EVER bestowed on me.

If I hadn't been in a crowded location, I would have got up and done the Carlton Banks dance right there and then.

Naked.

My husband, whom I kept my surgery plans a secret til well after my wheels were in motion, told me just yesterday how he was initially against both surgeries (VSG & Panniculectomy) mostly because he was scared of me having serious complications or worse... He was happy with me as a big girl however he is happier to see how happy I am with the new me.

THAT, besides my own, is the only opinion that matters.

Outside people AE gonna find SOMETHING to talk about. Underweight, overweight, your fashion style, your hair... Your skin. It keeps them from concentrating on their own shortcomings

Unless your doing one of the big 3, (feeding, financing or f-cking).... You don't have a gnats chance in hell of me justifying anything to you.

We all are going to die one day. Until my turn, I'm living my life on my terms. Folks are welcome to come along for the roller coaster ride or jump ship but if you try to bring negativity to my life, I'm pushing you off the proverbial cliff.

For this reason, my inner circle is fist tight!

I have this new small body body and am having trouble finding cute summer dresses to buy. I wear size 4 in pants but need smaller in dresses. Went shopping only to find very limited supply of size 2 dresses. And the ones I found were low cut of v neck, not flattering for my A cup.

try Junior sizes. Pick through them to find ones that aren't too youthful for your taste. You might also fit in a large girls size 14 or 16. Also, petites are sized a bit smaller, so a size 4 petite might work.

Was told this week that I was gaunt and had too much neck skin hanging and that is why she knew I had gastric bypass.. What the H*ll?...Now that could be a rant! People say the damndist things don't they?! :( Time to hide in the closet till plastics can fix my ugly ass!!!!!!!!!!!

I have noticed as time goes by (three years now and more than 2 at goal), weight has shifted. People who haven't seen me in a while say"you look great. You must have gained some weight". Uh no I still weight the same thing. I just smile and say "thanks! I think I'm just settling in at this weight". My face does look fuller and I notice my turkey neck less (I'm closer to 60 than 50).

Yes. The hardest thing, I wore size 20-18 and I had less problems finding clothes appropriate to my "station" and age than I do now. I'm below 4 and actually don't recommend people going this low. Its not even easy in petites which I am since I'm short.

I never come back on them. I encourage them to eat & drink healthy, walk, but I never make comments about the weight.

Sometimes the best thing is to simply demonstrate who's the mature personality.

A size 4? I can't even imagine what that looks like.

I think my right leg is a size 4.

Does that mean all you dinky wee cute things could fit into my pocket? :)

Wait until you have a hospital stay for malnutrition, a PICC line for 5-6 weeks, and then problems from neuropathies, polyneuropathies, cataracts, and most of all not being the athlete you were, and you'd not think the tiny ones are that fortunate.

In addition it delays plastic surgery.

Oh and one last thing: it is easier to find age appropriate clothes for plus sizes than below size 4. So don't think that everything is peachy on this side of the equation. It isn't.

Forgot: I got a reflective shirt, bright yellow, with a running skeleton on it. My sister said amazing likeness.

Oh, I'm not glamourising or making light of those that got to that size through awful circumstance.

Just happy for those who have naturally and in a healthy way found themselves in the petite end of the scale.

Its borne out of envy on my part. 'Cause I could lose all the weight in the world and I'll still be shopping in the 'tall' section - which aren't that prevalent in the average shops in the UK.

True but there are a lot of sacrifices to stay that way. I eat a lot of food but make sure it is lean Protein only and veggies. I do have food intolerances that don't help but that's what works for me.

Never expected all this. Then again, I never expected my surgeon and his attitude and how it would negatively affect my care either.

Ppl are so mean! So I wanna tie in a sack and throw them in a river. Am I the only one who gets a lil offended when ppl are like "you look so much better" I wanna say I wasn't "circus fat" in the 1st place I was just fatter.

I know I'm doing this to loose weight and I should take it as a complement, and I do from the ppl I know really care about me, but from the superficial friends I take it as "you were enormous but it's a little better"

And to the ppl who were "circus fat" the more power to them I say!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
