Megaloo 4 Posted April 11, 2014 I am 6 days post op (weeeee!) and am beginning to doubt he took anything out. I'm so hungry!! I have friends who are a year out and said they never felt hungry again. I have friends who are a year out and said they never felt hungry again. I'm feeling discouraged. Any pointers on how to combat this?? I am 9 days post op and at times I feel hunger then there are days I don't even wanna eat at all. It's normal, we still have a stomach and we still need food so I wouldn't worry if I were u. Madam Reverie 2,958 Posted April 11, 2014 What you're potentially experiencing is hunger, but it is grounded in a bit of head-hunger, a mucked up stomach and a lack of energy. This is probably due to the fact your stomach is still numb and still so cut up and raw. Making ungodly noises for you yet, is it?! I believe that all those nerves being severed and stitched does weird things to your hunger messages - whether physical or purely mental. Drink what you can. As far as food is concerned and for the first 6 weeks, I wasn't worrying too much about the calorie intake - just as long I was feeling satisfied and I was safe in what I was consuming (so a fair amount of Protein shakes). You'll soon know if you've gone too far.. You'll get the hiccups, runny nose, sneezes. Sadly, I didn't start feeling more human until I hit puree's.. Hang in there, give it a couple of weeks and you'll be feeling more like your old self. As it stands you're so fresh out, the body is just playing with your head. Try to ignore it, drink/eat what is safe and what you can and should physically consume, and all will be well shortly x 1 roses1223 reacted to this
Patoonces 13 Posted April 11, 2014 I'm on second week and over week already on purées. I'm hungry a decent amount of the time my friend swears once I'm on normal food I'll be more satiated. 1 roses1223 reacted to this
greensleeve 457 Posted April 11, 2014 Are you taking something for stomach acid? Sometimes if you have too much acid it feels like you are hungry. 1 roses1223 reacted to this
