I had my lap band surgery Oct 1, 2011. in las vegas, NV, By Dr Soon, everything went well, the first few months, even the first year, had some fills, was not even at 50%, I felt full when I ate , no snacking, after a fill. Then about 6 months ago i started throwing up, everytime I ate no matter what it ws, even during the night i would throw up, Finally went in and they took almost all the Fluid out, Instant relief, something must have been stuck in the band, But sense then I have had 3 fills am over the 50%, but feel NOTHING, I have gainned back 20 pounds, I am so disgusted with myself, as I feel like an eating machine, I have even started drinking alot of diet soda, hoping to feel full, anything, i feel nothing, they say the band could not have come loose, or slipped, but I really don't believe that, as why am i not EVER feeling full, and am hungry ALL the time, any help would be appreciated.

More fills! Keep going back for fills till you start to feel a level of satiety.

The number of fills nor the amount of saline in your band, do not relate to how effective the band/tool will be. Things change. Your esophagus muscles gain strength due to so much pushing, your fat pad around your stomach can disappear or shift, with the total unfill, your band may have repositioned itself?

And, of course, what you eat will determine how much restriction/satiety your band is giving? Diet pop won't give you any satiety at all. And the band is designed to dim our appetites, not create a "full" feeling. If you're full, you've eaten too much. jmo

I've seen hundreds of posts from people who went from feeling their band had no saline(and it had 7 CCs) to too tight with just one .25 CC fill. What I'm saying is, this journey is not linear. There are bumps and U-turns you have to deal with. And having a properly adjusted band is the most important factor for us to lose weight.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
