Is there a "Grocery Shopping List" for post-op recovery?

Recommended Posts

Hi, so just waiting on ins approval now to schedule surgery. My mom is coming to town to help me and family out for the 2 weeks post op, and to make it easier on her I would like an idea of what food items I might want to stock the pantry with for my post recovery (besides of course Protein shakes). I know I will start on standard Clear liquids the first few days, with the normal sleeve progression as time passes, so what else should I stock up on?

Kind of on same topic, what sort of things could I do/set up to make things easier on her when she is here helping me out? Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks in advance for the help!

Depending on your level of pain, you should be able to function at home fairly well... ie bathroom, shower, making stuff for yourself...

Have Protein, SF popsicles, anything you want to add to Water, the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury broth was excellent for something hot...

My doc gave us a "black book" of what to have and not have ... ask your doc if they have something like that...

Don't forget to apply at InsureNutrition.com to see if you qualify for free Protein, you don't have to wait until the surgery actually happens, as it does take a couple of weeks to process...

good luck...nice to have "Mom" come in for a helpful visit... I miss mine so much, enjoy the time you have with her! :)

I wouldn't buy too much of anything before surgery. Things that taste good now might not taste good after. That happened to me with Protein powders. Thankfully I just bought some packets and decided I'd buy a tub I liked after.
