gabby5391 15 Posted April 10, 2014 I'm on post op day 3 and my nausea and vomiting have finally gone away but now I have like all this acid reflux and nothing seems to help. I'm afraid whenever I burp I'll end up puking again. Any suggestions on what might help or words of encouragement to help get me through?
magtart 603 Posted April 10, 2014 Did your doctor prescribe a PPI drug? Most do, but if not you should ask for one. I take 20mg. of omeprazole daily. 1 LindafromFlorida reacted to this
Malugo 31 Posted April 10, 2014 Yes, I also take Omeprazole but 40mg daily. First thing in the AM. Work great.
gabby5391 15 Posted April 11, 2014 Is that like nexium? That's all my surgeon prescribed for me. It works ok but I still have a ton of gas build up inside me. It's kinda painful and so frustrating.
NMJG 1,266 Posted April 11, 2014 I was on 40 mg of omeprozole for the first month. Also try 2 GasX strips, they work wonders. And walk, walk, walk, it helps so much.
gabby5391 15 Posted April 11, 2014 Yea thanks I'll try the strips. Walking around my house as much as I can but can't do steps yet so just been walking up and down the hall. How long did you have the build up for? When was your surgery?
