frumpy69 37 Posted April 10, 2014 Here's my little story! December 9, 2011 I had Gastric Sleeve surgery and thought that i had it all figured out. Turns out i did real good for awhile but my weightloss stopped may 2012 and hasnt ever restarted, its been 2 years and i have gained 30lbs back. I find myself back to fad dieting and getting depressed. Also i never even got close to my goal weight. I wanna know if there is anyone else out there that has had this problem and if soo what they were doing that has had to change or health issues anything i need some insight . thank you 1 Band2Sleever reacted to this
Seela 1,187 Posted April 10, 2014 Im not far enough out yet to give you first hand experience but, a lot of vets do 5:2. Search it... a lot of them swear by it. Good luck.
angelface811 100 Posted April 10, 2014 I'm sorry your having a rough time. It must have been so discouraging to not lose how much you thought you might. There are some people who don't lose all they needed to with the sleeve and then need to convert to bypass. Maybe it's worth looking into in addition to getting a good work up. Make sure your thyroid is good, adrenal functions and hormones etc. 1 Jeffie Beck reacted to this
Christian Zaccone 243 Posted April 10, 2014 10 mnths in down 207 lbs. ummmm.. change Water intake, change excercise or add a little and most of all calorie intake for a women should range between 1000-1200 per day. make sure of that .. it is simple science.. calorie in and calorie out. LindafromFlorida 1,542 Posted April 10, 2014 Personally I would think I might go back to my pre surgery and immediate post surgery program for awhile. The weather is getting nicer, you can get outdoors and do something, and get the focus off food. I know you can do it!!!! 1 Christian Zaccone reacted to this
JessicaAnn 564 Posted April 10, 2014 Do you still have restriction?

Madam Reverie 2,958 Posted April 11, 2014 May I ask what BMI you were when your weightloss stopped and what BMI you are now, after the weight gain? I would be tempted to go back to basics. Total basics. Protein, Water, no carbs, lower fat, lower sugar. 1 onlybroomegirl reacted to this
NothingUpMySleeve 244 Posted April 11, 2014 I'm not a vet, but one strategy I have for myself is that I only eat at certain times, which prevents the grazing that stalls my loss. Try choosing maybe 4 times of day to take in calories. Back to basics on Protein, etc., and only give yourself like a 15-20 minute window to eat. You did this before and you can do it again! There is no expiration date on sleeve success from what I've read 1 Texasmeg reacted to this

Protein, Water, no carbs, lower fat, lower sugar. I tend to agree with Madam here. One other thing is that I have recently begun to focus on adding in healthy fats at each meal. Yesterday for lunch I had half an avocado with 3 oz of white tuna salad ontop of it. I ate that at 12..finished at around 12:30. It was 6 oclock when I realized I needed to eat something for dinner. The avocado really kept me satisfied...shockingly so. So thats taught me an important lesson in my own journey. I need to better balance my meals and not just focus on the Protein part but also the healthy fat aspect too. Not sure if this will help any but I thought I would share my revelation. Good luck on your journey honey, we are all here for you. 1 moonlitestarbrite reacted to this
FishingNurse 1,211 Posted April 13, 2014 you are not alone, I am reading more and more about regain after the sleeve! I too gained 10, and have lost it, and gained it again! I am currently 6 pounds from my lowest. I am 3 years out this summer. I have found the intermittent fasting (8 hour diet) the best. My restriction is fair, I eat 1500-2000 cals a day usually, sometimes more. If you still have a significant amount to loose, and you continue to struggle there is always revising to a DS or a Gastric Bypass.
JessicaAnn 564 Posted April 13, 2014 If there is still restriction then there is no need to revise. 2000+ calories seems like a lot unless your doing some serious bodybuilding. I'm almost a year out and what I've realized is the the sleeve can't fail me, but I can certainly fail my sleeve. Back to basics. Maybe even counseling if you haven't addressed the issues that caused over eating before surgery? Whatever you choose, good luck!
