Ok so I've been reading how everyone's first fill went. All the way from painful to easy. Yet again I'm a lucky one. Easy as pie didn't even feel it. My band was primed with 2 ml during surgery and the fill today was 2ml so I have a total of 4 ml. Today was the first time I've weighed since my post op appointment and down 8 pounds. Of course I wanted a bigger number but im pretty damn proud of 8 pounds in 3 weeks. My cloths are getting looser and my energy is soaring. Getting my band has certainly been a life changer and I would do it again in a heart beat :)

I had my first fill today too! :) Mine wasn't primed during surgery, but they put in 3ml today. It didn't hurt, but the doctor had a hard time getting the needle in my port. Congrats on your weight loss! Every little bit counts so I'm glad you see the positive side. I blog about all my LapBand related stuff, including my first fill, so if you're interested, you can check it out. The link is in my signature below. Best of luck to you in your journey!

I know for a fact if I had not been reading all the post here I would have been discouraged, but I know I've still been healing and any loss right now is a victory. Now 2 more days of liquids and 2 more of mushies and I can have my first solid food since February 23rd. I can't wait for some chicken :) congrats on your fill and all your success so far!!

I totally know what you mean! My first real combination food (after mushies like egg, tuna etc) was a taco! And I was so damn excited that I blogged about it. http://banderland.weebly.com/1/post/2014/04/day-36-i-ate-a-taco.html

Congrats on your fill. It's a great milestone to achieve. Makes you feel like the band is doing something.

Im not even sure what my first meal will be yet. Just know I want CHICKEN!! Not the canned mushy chicken but an honest to goodness piece of grilled chicken. Hoping I notice some restriction, but I already have an appointment for my next fill. Even though I would like to see the weight come off faster my doctor was thrilled with my progress and actually prefers if I lose slow and steady. Here's to real food!! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
