jtickle 295 Posted April 10, 2014 I have UHC and I didn't have anything like a 6 month diet or counseling thru optum. I hope my approval goes as smoothly as the process getting to this point. Hoping for a mid May surgery.
AprilHansen 109 Posted April 11, 2014 How long? Depends on from what point... I first applied with my PCP back in 2009... Denied. Finally got approved to consult with the surgeon Dec 2013. Once I lost the pre-op weight (12 pounds) it took 2 weeks for HealthNet to approve my surgery. I had surgery 5 days later.
GADeltaDawn 14 Posted January 25, 2015 I only had to wait 2 days. I have BCBS Anthem out of Georgia. Amanda729, I'm in GA also with Anthem. What type of diet documentation did they require? I'm told I don't need a supervised diet but they want me to have a documented and appraised attempt for 6 months in the past 2 years. Just wondering if they will take my own journals or does it have to be something "official".
