Maybe you should start documenting things. Write it down. My husband passed out after surgery in the shower, really hurt himself - low blood pressure. The BP cuffs are relatively cheap. Take control of your health and don't let anyone fluff you off. Trust your gut instinct!

You can get those lab reports by asking your doctor. You can keep a food diary. You can ask questions here. Post in all caps LAPBAND to gather attention, whatever it takes! Good luck!

I hope that you get to feel better soon.... keep a diary of date and time and how you feel.....track it all so that when you see a physician,,,,,you can be exact as to when you feel sick...? Have you seen your gastroenterologist ?Perhaps,a visit to him would be indicated if the symptoms continue ?I had the surgery in NYC in July and I have been to the ER twice....I have already lost about 134 pounds....and I am now struggling with severe pain in my feet and hands.....difficulty sleeping....the doctor put me on lyrica...a little helpful but, none of the doctors that I have seen have any clue as to why this is happening...they said that I have peripheral neuropathy??Anyone have these issues? Stay well and take care....all the best...for good health.....

btw: DO NOT let them think that you have emotional issues and disregard your clear medical symptoms......it must be coming from somewhere.........they tried to do that in the ER with me......I found a physician who understood what was going on.......the ER doctors are residents and poorly trained working in a hectic environment........best of luck....

Ooo, im so sorry, your going through issues too. I hope you get better soon. Thank you for the advice, because that's exactly what they tried to do, i feel so bad, my family is worried and im so weak im fainting, but yet nothing is wrong!?!?!? Makes sense to me a 26 year old female faints to me, and can't keep down...that's normal too.

Prior to the sleeve and weight loss I cried with the pain in my feet, neuropathy. I had been put on Metformin for diabetes but my doctor said it was not Diabetes related. I disagree. I asked for Lyrica, and within a few months got huge fire engine red watery blisters all over my toes. Like I have said in other posts, I fear these medicines will kill us. I now have gout due to the weight loss, and was on 3 meds. Took the meds a week ago and spent 8 hours vomiting. Hospitalized overnight with dehydration. I never want to be that sick again.

Let's lose the weight and all hope to become healthier people without the meds and being guinea pigs!

They said all levels are fine, which is weird, because if i were fine, i wouldn't be here. My CNA said something to me along the lines of getting a second opinion

I went through exactly the same thing, my pouch had prolapsed into my band. The band came out and I was revised to the sleeve last May, and never looked back. I was told that when I had food poisoning it caused my band to slip and the pouch just collapsed into the band. I had a barium swallow test and when they asked me to take a 3rd drink it came out of my nose, it couldn't pass through the band, some days I did ok on soft foods, some days even Protein shakes were too thick to pass through the crowded opening. The surgeon explained that my stomach would shift, sometime blocking my pouch opening and sometimes it was in a healthy position, and since the slip was minor, and the complications were major, he felt that revising me was the best option. And I would get dizzy from low blood sugar, not being able to eat will do that, my mom is diabetic and we tested my sugar level during a dizzy spell, it was in the 40's. I also had very low blood pressure from dehydration and lack of sodium from not eating. I would call your surgeon NOW and tell them you need to be seen. I hope this is not your case, but it sounds just like what I went through.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
