Didn't you just have your surgery? How are you doing? I have been asking that a lot since I've been on my pre-op liquids. Seems to me it's a little bit out :(

We are the same day :) I have emailed a lot of patients that have had the surgery with my doctor and I am amazed at their results. Unfortunately they are all more than 8 months out, but they are all easily eating regular food. I am just looking forward to pureed foods or cream soups...something I can't see through. hahaha

Around 4 months is likely when you'll have your first sorta-kinda normal meal LOL. A couple ounces of chicken and three bites of veg. :D

It gets better every day.

I'm 8 days post-op, and I ask that question every dayI just don't do Clear Liquids, unless they have something in them that's good. pureed food, is just awful, but I keep telling myself, it's not the end of the world. My husband made a big steak tonight, I actually bought it for him, because I felt so bad that his eating habits ( he's small framed) have been cut, because I'm not cooking, and it's just him, and I. OMG child when I smelt that steak , had to put the Vicks up my nose, and sucked down (sipped, slowly) a disgusting Protein shke. Haha. Well I'm full now, and he enjoyed his steak, the dog's under the table enjoying the bone, and I just feel like shit, haha.. Hope all goes well for you. I love reading your posts cupcake. Bless you sweetheart on your journey!

Hey Kelly. So how was it right after surgery how did u feel and how r u doing now? I laughed bout ur hubby and the steak because I have a strict rule since our daughter and myself can't eat from being on this liquid diet then no eating cooking or bringing foods in this house until this part is over. My husband and son are about to lose their minds as they LITTERALLY eaten out everyday since we started. I know it sounds harsh but the temptation or to only be able to drink liquids while the others are chomping down on regular food is just too much to ask. Lol. Monday will not come fast enough

Where has the time gone? Almost 5 months post sleeve, and I have had my perfect dinner I wanted to share. A small saucer, about 1/2 cup of tossed salad, and about 1/2 cup of my fabulous chicken salad, eaten and savored very slowly. Yum! This is the new norm. Before you know it, you will be here. Hang in there! This is going to be the best summer, small meals, hardly any cooking, just relaxing by the pool.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
