Trouble getting in the 4oz

Recommended Posts

I feel like every soft food meal I have trouble getting in my four oz. my dr told me my stomach is somewhere between 4-6 oz and that's what I need to be getting in each meal.

I've been weighing my food. I made some canned chicken and it weighed 3.75 oz. I cooked it and mixed it with some sauce. I could barely eat half of it before I was full.

I can't figure out if it's because my stomach is still healing or what.

liquid wise I can take 4-6 oz no problem. But soft foods are another story.

I'm two weeks post op today. And health wise I feel fantastic. Doesn't even feel like I've had surgery.

I've followed my drs orders to the T. He said stick to canned chicken, or grilled chicken breast, veggies, fruits, fat free Beans, turkey. Basically everything Protein rich.

Anyone else having similar issues?

At two weeks, my doctor said that my stomach would still be swollen and to only eat two ounces. I tried to do three ounces yesterday and that was a mistake. I wouldn't worry about it, listen to your body.

I'm 6 weeks out and can barely get 3 ounces of tuna salad in and it's soft. If I were to eat chicken breast etc it's more like 2

I wonder how long till I can eat the amount I should.

I struggle everyday to get my 900-1000 cal in. Which is what my dr wants me to get. I can only get about 450-525.

Wow, at 2 weeks I was still on full liquids. Then 3 weeks of puréed. Then soft foods. There is no way I could get ANYTHING other than full liquids in at 2 weeks out
