Rebeccalee 2 Posted September 23, 2004 I watched this show today. There was one small portion on the band when Ali was on and that gave a little information. Otherwise, it seemed to be more about how losing weight doesn't necessarily make you happy and can mean you need to adjust psychologically. Personally, I wish it had been a bit more positive and informative. At least the band was mentioned and a bit shown about the surgery.
Iluvharleys 15 Posted September 23, 2004 Thanks Becky! I sure wanted to watch it but had to work:cry How are you feeling? Betty
Rebeccalee 2 Posted September 23, 2004 Feeling better, thanks Betty. Still waiting for the irritation to go away. It's still there on liquids, so I have a way to go still. Hoping it is cleared up by Monday.
Iluvharleys 15 Posted September 23, 2004 Wishing you tons of luck, but if it's not, then please go get checked! Betty
hagerteresa 3 Posted September 23, 2004 Leannie, That is funny that you mentioned that (about writing Oprah). I actually got up the nerve and motivation to fill out the 15 page application, submit pics and video and sent it all to that Makeover show. I was hoping to get a bypass or something done. Never heard from them either. That was about the time I first heard about the band and Mexico. I am glad I kept researching alternatives to the by pass. Katie328 0 Posted October 4, 2004 Seems to me that people like Oprah, Dr. Phil and even organizations like Weight Watchers look at surgery like the easy way out or even worse, like some sort of plague. What is so wrong with us wanting to do something soooo great for ourselves and needing a little help with it, and them spending hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in plastic surgery? It's all to make people feel better about their lives and themselves and i say people should do whatever works for them!! People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!! We rock and will accomplish our goals with or without thier support!! Katie
