Now that I am officially a "Sleever" and 4 days post-op which type of Vitamins should I purchase? I was self pay and wasn't required to see a nutritionist so any advice is welcome!

Every day I take: 2 Trader Joe's High Potency chewable multi's, 1 Citracal Petite, and a double dose of Wellesse liquid Iron. I did liquid Multivitamins and Calcium for the first four weeks. Oh and 4x per week I take a sublingual B12, which I get from Trader Joe's.

I was told to take a high potency multi with minerals 2xs a day for the first year, then once a day thereafter. A B12 sublingual- 1000 mcg, 3xs a week. calcium citrate (not carbonate aka Tums) with Vit D- 1500 mg a day. Iron 65-120 mg.

Sounds like a lot but it boils down the this for me: I take Calcium 2xs a day, 2 Flintstones chewable w/ Iron a day and B12 a few times a week.

I take a Women's Multi-, and then a Calcium. They are both gummies. Most stores have them.

Personally I would check into bariatric Vitamins for the first 2 months. Bariatric Advantage, Bariatric Fusion or Celebrate Vitamins, they are geared towards bariatric patients. Your not required to take "bariatric" vitamins but I highly recommend them. Also make sure you are taking Calcium and b-12 melts. I took liquid calcium I got at the Vitamin Shoppe. Oh and I know that wal-greens does carry a bariatric Vitamin. Which when on sale you can get it BOGO half off. Good luck on your journey !!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
