Have read about having a good bariatric chewable Multivitamin and the need for calcium citrate ( got the Caltrate mini pills). I have heard some take B12, but how much? Anything else?

I'm still pre-op but I've been taking a multivitamin, D, B12 and Biotin. I also take Pepcid complete and I'm sure I will continue post-op. Going to pick up chewable Calcium today.

When is your surgery?

I am the same way right now. Eating my favorites! I'm not nervous which is unusual for me. Just excited to finally get this done. I got the sample sets from Bariatric Fusion and Unjury. I did get a big chocolate, unflavored and chicken Soup from unjury too. God I hope they are good. They were expensive!

1000 mcg sublingual B12 3xs a week. You may also need to supplement your Iron. 36 mg minimum but up to120 mg if anemic.

I am taking the Centrum chewable one a day and Biotin. After surgery I will continue the Vitamin and add 1200-1500mg Calcium a day and I bought the citrical with D3 but I was instructed not to take the vitamin and calcium together. Supposedly biotin is in my vitamin so I need to stop taking it.

My doctor’s office strongly advised me against chewable as it contains harmful fillers in the form of binding agents known to cause side effects. I take one Multivitamin, containing 100% of the recommended daily allowance (RDA) of at least 2/3 of all nutrients, including 18 mg Iron and minerals like zinc and selenium, 1200 mg Calcium malate chelate, divided into three doses of about 500 mg each, taken at least two hours apart and 1000mcg B-12 in sublingual.< /p>

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
