11 days out of surgery and you are taking bites of REAL food? OH NO! That's a bad girl....LOL! Becareful you are NOT healed yet down there. You don't want food to scratch or irritate your stomach.

Patience my friend, but please make sure you obey the rules and stay on liquids and soft foods. IT IS A VERY SLOW AND AGGRAVATING PROCESS!!!

Glad to haev a new friend. XOXO

Well I clicked on your status thinking you had Lap band...as that is where I was on the site. However you had GBP...your rules maybe totally different from the lap band. Sorry if I over stepped on the rules part. I Truly wish I had had the gasric by pass as opposed to Lapband as this is NOT workign for me. :(

I am a lapband patient, but I am positive that it is going to be a little while for you to see results. You did have surgery and it does take time for your body to heal. Just hang in there, I'm sure that you will see the results soon! ** by the way - if you had ivs during the surgery or afterwards, sometimes that makes you gain some weight from the iv Fluid intake as well.

Wishing you the best :)

I hate to see folks struggle. Are you working with the doctor and/or the nutritionist? I do hope you are not having band complications. Is there anything I can help with?

I can see by your stats that you are having problems. can you start another post and tell us a little more about yourself. like fills and band size what you are eating. etc. we would love to be able to perhaps help you or at least direct you in the right direction.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
