Need breakfast ideas, sick of eggs and protein shakes

Recommended Posts

I really need some Breakfast ideas. I am low carb so i don't do Cereal. I can't eat eggs every day and I do Protein shakes 3-4 times a week since it is easy. Yogurt is a common Breakfast, too.

Ideas, people?

For high Protein? Have you been doing any meat, such as turkey bacon or Spam?

I also really, really love hummus--it tastes like tangy refried Beans. Might make an interesting addition.

I keep telling myself I am going to make some of those mini quiches in a muffin tin, but I am too damn lazy to do it.

I am making some now! Bell peppers, green onion, spinach, sharp cheddar, and Canadian bacon. Yum.

My breakfast this morning was pulled pork.

Erm, I didn't even know you could get sugar free BBQ Sauce? !

So clearly, that's a no. BUT, to be fair, I don't like too much sauce on mine so it was more plain pulled pork with a light smattering of BBQ. It was Breakfast, after all :P

lol it's true! My man made the pulled pork (he's from the south), and he leaves it plain for me and then I add what sauce I want! He drowns his - but us brits just aren't built like that! :D

And why would your hubby react like that to your chicken snack? I do that ALL the time!

I'm always found gnawing on animal carcasses..

I love doing those things on a Sunday and make them for the week. Makes breakfast fast for work a no brainer and very quick.

Usually I just do eggs, cheese and bacon or diced ham.

I love the banana pancake also ( 1/2 banana and one egg) . I add other fruit or Protein powders or flavorings depending on my mood. Easy and yummy. Have fun with it.

chicken apple sausage is my favorite on-the-go food. I cook the pack of 4 on Sunday and nuke one through out the week for breakfast or a snack.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
