Need breakfast ideas, sick of eggs and protein shakes

Recommended Posts

I keep telling myself I am going to make some of those mini quiches in a muffin tin, but I am too damn lazy to do it. I am making some now! Bell peppers, green onion, spinach, sharp cheddar, and Canadian bacon. Yum.

I love doing those things on a Sunday and make them for the week. Makes Breakfast fast for work a no brainer and very quick.

Usually I just do eggs, cheese and bacon or diced ham.

Ok I have tried these several times and need help!!! They stick to my muffin pans! Won't pop out and make a mess of things. I've even tried them in cupcake papers but the papers get all gross.Tips???

I spray the tin down quite liberally with some spray oil. I liked the butter flavor from Crisco but the olive oil isn't too bad.

Maybe I need a new pan. I did spray with the butter flavored Pam spray

I mix up my breakfasts. One day it will be scrambled eggs with cheese on top of a toastada, next day it will be Bear Peak Protein granola with skim milk. I just started to eat steal cut oats made with skim milk. At times I will just have cottage cheese with some fruit. Or eggs with some fruit. I love Al Fresco Breakfast chicken sausage patties and then I make a naked egg sandwich with the sausage on the bottom then a slice of provolone cheese, egg, Tomato, and onion. So delicious. Then there are days I eat what I had for dinner for breakfast. The other day I tried french toast for the first time. I find awesome recipes online and on Pinterest.

All these breakfast ideas are amazing. I would never think of chipped beef and bacon ever again. I have had some off theses cookbooks. I gift mine at our local library. They are amazing! Good luck with other ideas.

Every weekend I make a HUGE Breakfast for my family and what ever friend my daughter has over for the night. I usually make an extra pack of turkey bacon for myself, and put it into about 6 snack sized bags. I have that and some cheese, or cottage cheese for breakfast. I hate to start my day with shakes, and only do it when I'm really in a rush. I also like the turkey bacon with some spinach and some feta in a lettuce wrap.

I really need some breakfast ideas. I am low carb so i don't do Cereal. I can't eat eggs every day and I do Protein shakes 3-4 times a week since it is easy. Yogurt is a common breakfast, too.

Ideas, people?

I recently found a blog where the author writes about what she eats each day. It seems pretty diverse. I've been ferreting away ideas for post-surgery:

And why would your hubby react like that to your chicken snack? I do that ALL the time! I'm always found gnawing on animal carcasses..

to my H, a snack ALWAYS consists of carbs! or alcohol. or both.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
