Why have i stopped lossing?

Recommended Posts

I don't know what to do to be able to start losing again. I was only eating 300 cal after my surgery and lost 30 lbs in the first month, they finally get me to where I can keep something down and I stop losing?!?!? How is it that eating 900 cal a day causes me to maintain weight and not lose! 300 cal is not enough to sustain life or proper brain function, but any more and I can't lose anything? Anybody have any ideas? I am lost...oh and I can only drink milk for fluids, Water hurts and makes me upchuck so that is how I am getting my cal everyday. I am still only eating two 1/4 cp meals a day.

How are you getting your Protein? Are you getting the required amount? My doctor still has me on about 400 cal a day and surgery was Feb 26. But I get about 90 gr of protein a day and I drink over 100 oz of water. If you are only drinking milk then you are getting too many calories and not enough protein.

My doc wants me on 1000cal a day and 60 gr Protein. I am getting my protein in and not quite enough cal, bit def more than I had been. I am close to my targets daily, only going over on protein, never on cals.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
