Like a lot of us I had a bad day with my eating.. Started my morning off had one off those tiny canned biscuits a piece of sausage then ended up taking my twins to the emergency room, spent several hours there got them home and went back for their meds and some food, I ate a half a pice of fried chicken Brest and about 4 fries'which was awful because its fried... Then later I Cooked dinner whim was a white turkey meat chili I ate about 6 ounces I think that wasn't bad, but tonight I ate some a serving of chips and ranch dip kit a good choice. With a piece of cheddar cheese. Just sharing my story because I know almost everyone out there has a bad day from time to time. Back to basics Tommorrow for sure.

I'm sorry you've had a rough day. It's just one bad day. Tomorrow starts a new week and the bad day will be a thing of the past. Take care and thanks for sharing because we all know those bad days can sneak up on any of us..

Ive been on antibiotics for most of the last 3 weeks and let me just say...they kick up hunger and acid like no ones business.

So I feel like I've been eating bad and way too much. I feel your struggle...and its a tough one.

Tomorrow is a new day for sure and I'm going back to shakes for Breakfast and lunch. It works for me. I save the chewing for one meal and feel in control.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
