Congratulations on your best decision ever!!! Well the first 5 days are the hardest! The next 3 weeks weren't so bad and then it gets easier. Hair loss no one told me about and didn't know it was going to happen! At 3 months out I started loading a lot hair but I have a lot of hair so not a big deal but start taking Biotin now it helps. The biggest thing I can say is just do everything they tell you to do. Eat slow and look for signs your getting full because if you over eat your stomach feels like a rock and other time you just throw up. I finally figure it out if I sneeze or my nose starts running I have to stop eating because that's my sign I'm full. Also make sure you weigh everything it helps. Clothes at first it's small but then it's starts the clothes just start falling off. I went from size 22 to an 18 and then 18 to 16. And now I'm going in to some 14. Don't bit a lot of clothes look for a sale and buy a few things just to get your thru. I hit a one day Macys sale and got 5 pants for 60 dollars and that's great. It's all just goes fast. Also get yourself a fitbit - this thing is great you can keep track of your meals and your Water. It give you a break down of fat vs carbs and Protein. I try to keep my carbs under 40 and make sure I get in at least 60 protein. Also it's keeps track of your steps and your activity . It helps me get my steps in. I hope this helps and if you have any other questions just ask. Good luck to you!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
