Hi everyone. I had my surgery on 3-11-14 and weight 229 on that morning. I have been stuck on 215 now for the past week. I have read about stalls but so soon? I am doing everything the dr recommends and no weight loss. Is this normal?

I've heard that stalls happen to many at weeks 3 and or 4. I'm guessing your body is just adjusting, hang tight and keep working your program.

I'm in the same boat. I had my sleeve on March 19 and weighed 226 (I had list 14 pounds on preop diet). It is now April 6 and I weigh 218. I haven't lost a pound in four days. My husband says I'm having a pity party and thinks I'm eating too much. (Yesterday I had 603 calories). I am feeling pretty low.

Yes, completely normal! I stalled around week 3-4 as well. Your body is just adjusting to the changes you've put it through and rebelling. Don't let it discourage you, the weight will come off. Just keep following your dr's plan and you'll be losing again in no time! And sorry to say, this is probably the first of several stalls you will go through on this journey. But don't worry, you got this!!

Tell him to eat 600 calories! Like really! REALLY!!!! Gah, hang in there and stick to your plan, it will move. Don't let others around you who dont understand discourage you any further, stay strong.

It is normal, unfortunately. I'm on my second stall. Ugh. Keep following the plan and have faith!

You are healing. A large amount of weight fluctuations in the beginning is Water. Once the fat starts falling off the body will fight to hold it.. a stall this early (to me) isn't really a stall. Let your body heal, be patient, heal. Don't worry, it did work!

I am just home from the hospital yesterday and I got on the scale and I gained 18 pounds since I left for surgery last Thursday. Feel so bloated and gross now as well as sore from the surgery. I have not seen any mention a weight gain for people and I was curious....

This is absolutely normal and your clinic should have warned you. You were loaded up with IV fluids. It will take several days to a week for all of that Fluid to work through your system. When it does, you will see the scale move BIG TIME! Congrats on making this step. You will love the new you!

Totally normal! I think most of us stayed off the scale for a week post-op just because if this. Of course a nurse weighed me day-after surgery and I was 20 pounds heavier!! She said its normal. I had sausage fingers too... it was such a relief when that Fluid gtfo'd. Of course, then you're in the bathroom all the time... lol

I gained eleven Fluid pounds from IV fluids on the day of my surgery. It took maybe 8-9 days just to get back to my surgery day weight. I was warned and expected it so I was prepared for the gain. Don't get on the scale for at least a week! If you follow your doctor's instructions as closely as possible YOU WILL LOSE. Relax, recover, and heal. You are on your way to a healthier you! :-)

They told me but I guess I was in the restroom for this part. I weighed when I got home form the hospital and was 2 lbs heavier than when I started the pre op diet. I waited about 2 weeks to weigh again and woo hoo, it and friends were gone...

I knew I would gain weight but I still wanted to weigh in the hospital. Lol. They walked me by the scales everyday but never let me use them. I weighed myself at home after my 5 day hospital stay and I had gained 9 pounds. I was glad I didn't weigh while in the hospital because I would have been discouraged.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
