Alatini21 0 Posted April 6, 2014 Is that normal? I'm having a hard time getting Protein and fluids bc I'm just not hungry and I wonder if that's why so much weight has come off? Anyone else at that number at that time?
Carlotta1 401 Posted April 6, 2014 What was your starting weight? Did you go on a preop diet .
joatsaint 2,814 Posted April 6, 2014 (edited) I can't remember how much I lost in the 1st few weeks, but I do remember not eating more than 1/2 can of Soup per day for weeks and weeks. I was slowly able to eat more as the days went past. It'll be the same for you. I took the list of recommended daily Protein and carb intake as goals to shoot for once I was well past the surgery, not something I should be taking in starting the 1st day post-op. I was supposed to be eating at least 600 calories a day, but I know I was eating less than 200/day for the 1st 2 weeks. ebert 10 Posted April 6, 2014 I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one shedding serious weight at this point.I'm 12 days out and this morning I went to the NUT for a weigh-in and consultation. The weigh-in revealed that I've lost 20 pounds since leaving the hospital, and 28 since the surgery. The NUT was considerably surprised and slightly concerned. He green-lit me for more sugar in the form of 100% fruit juice drinks each day (200 ml). I'm going back next week--if I lose another 20, he'll be officially worried, and me as well.Even though I might be shedding too fast, it's kind of hard not to feel excited.
