sweetsexything 3 Posted April 5, 2014 (edited) Hi. My surgery date is 1st of July but my blood pressure had been consistently high since last month (March 2014). I have had my blood test done already and everything is normal except for high BP readings. I have been monitoring my BP at home as well it has always been on the high side. Just concerned that I might be cancelled or postponed for the suregery until I get my BP normalized. Anyone who has also experienced problems with blood pressure before the surgery? Did the surgeon still continue with the operation? What medical diagnostic tests need to be done before the operation? My next appointment is on the 16th of June but would love to know your views about this. Thanks. Edited April 5, 2014 by sweetsexything
sblissp 16 Posted April 6, 2014 I have high blood pressure but it is regulated with meds. Blood pressure is one of the things that having this surgery helps you to fix, so I can't see it being a reason for denial. Maybe I am misunderstanding your question. I would get with your pcp and work on getting the hypertension under control.. I have pulmonary hypertension as well as regular hypertension and I thought for sure that would make me ineligible for anesthesia or something but I was good to go and was successfully sleeved on March 31st! Other tests I had to undergo for the surgery were an endoscopy, a stress test, psych eval, nutrition courses...
