ghettofarm24 0 Posted April 6, 2007 I was banded 9 months ago and I know this may sound crazy but when I get hungry- like my stomach is growling- my left shoulder really hurts almost like a cramp or a pulled muscle and when I eat the pain will go away. I feel stupid even asking this question but has anybody ever have that happen to them? or know what the heck it could be. I see my doctor in 4 wks but to be honest i'm embarrased to even ask because its so off the wall.:help:
ghettofarm24 0 Posted April 6, 2007 Thanks for the info it did help, now I am scared. If I had an ulcer I thought I would know-b/c I thought they were painful? I am definatly going to talk to my doc because its very aggrivating. Maybe I should call and move my appt up?
ghettofarm24 0 Posted April 6, 2007 No, I only had reflux when I was pregnant and after I had him it pretty much went away. The only med I take is birth control. I also had my gall bladder removed 12-06 because of the weight loss I had gall stones. I will try the mylanta and see if that helps. So when you have an ulcer and you eat it makes it better? Marimaru 7 Posted April 8, 2007 I don't think it's ulcer related at all. Lots of bandsters have left shoulder pain. After surgery they say it's referred pain from the diaphragm, and I think it's the same thing. My personal guess is that your stomach is moving around when it's growling, and maybe the band is rubbing on the diaphram, or something, you know? If I let myself get that hungry my shoulder throbs as well.
Marimaru 7 Posted April 9, 2007 Well, this isn't the first case of shoulder pain I've heard of, and there are a number of shoulder pain threads on this site, which is why I tend to believe it's the same as many of us have.
