Hi there, I live in WA - but at the top end, so although Perth is my capital city, by kilometre I am actually closer to Brisbane.

I had a band to sleeve revision 10 days ago in Perth. I am back home now and have lost 4kg - only 1 kg away from double digits...wahoo!!

Hi, What is an omega loop pass and who is your surgeon in Perth? Did you have much success with the sleeve?

Simply put an Omega Loop Gastric Bypass (also known as a 'mini' gastric bypass) is a cross between a sleeve and RNY... it's not quite as agressive with the malabsorbtion but does incorportate some.

Also its virtually completely reversable...

I can't answer the other two parts of your questions lol sorry!

Great answer, my surgeon is Dr Kevin Dolan, he is awesome. Unfortunately I have no is stance or restriction left from the sleeve, I lost 42kgs but have put it all back on, I'm sure a lot of it was my fault though

How long ago did you have your sleeve? unfortunatley WLS isn't a permanent fix and weight does come back after a while (or so my surgeon says) if not balanced correctly.

Another factor which I was told contributes to it is age.

Hi fellow Aussies,

I thought I'd say hello again and see how you're all going. I broke 100kg this morning, so I am a happy camper! Only 25kg to go...but to be back in double digits was my first goal, so I am pretty chuffed....good luck with all your journeys!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
