Samirax6 18 Posted April 4, 2014 Hi, I am new here and scheduled to have my lap band procedure on May 3! I am excited and very nervous all at the same time. I was looking to see how my insurance would cover me but they were insistent on waiting a year. Once I realized that it would take months to appeal and be approved (in a year I would be covered anyways) I decided I needed it done while I am already off work and have the time to start these lifestyle changes. So I have chosen to go aboard and the staff has been very helpful to me so far and made this decision very conformable. In addition, my local doctor has been positive about my follow-up and fills! I start the living shrinking portion on Saturday and will do 4 weeks of this diet. It seemed excessive but I read there is an assumption of your liver based on your BMI, mine is really high!!! I am looking forward to meeting new people in this journey!!! 3 2muchfun, terrydumont46 and betty_s reacted to this
HealthyNewMe 1,935 Posted April 4, 2014 One month from today..... Good for you! The pre-op diet will hopefully be one of the last few diets you will ever be on, because your post op liquid/mushy diet will probably be your last. Then, your band will eventually help you with restricting the quantity of food you can eat. Took me 6 1/2 months of fills to hit my SWEET SPOT, but boy.......it is ever so SWEET! Best Wishes! 1 Samirax6 reacted to this

betty_s 476 Posted April 4, 2014 congrats! i'm 4 days after you! my insurance required the 1 year of 'health' coaching before the would approve me, it was a long process, but I'm def more ready than ever to get this over with.
Samirax6 18 Posted April 4, 2014 congrats! i'm 4 days after you! my insurance required the 1 year of 'health' coaching before the would approve me, it was a long process, but I'm def more ready than ever to get this over with. That is good, I finally just switched to an insurance that even offers it because my insurance that I have had for the past 15 years does not. Even still with switching it would be waiting another year and I need help now! We could be band buddies since we are so close in dates!!!
