Jen40 12 Posted April 3, 2014 I am 23 days out today and just starting on soft foods... Dr says try 2 oz, 5 times daily. I thought for sure I wouldn't be able to take in 2oz... But I can! I hear about many taking only 1/2-1 tsp... But I don't have a problem with most things (refried Beans, cottage cheese, scrambled egg) with 2 oz at a time. Is this bad??? And I going to lose weight this way? Am I eating too much?

Becky78 7 Posted April 3, 2014 I eat 2 oz 4 times a day and I'm like you not having any problems with it either so maybe that's normal for some of us.
belunos 93 Posted April 3, 2014 Soft foods go through you almost like liquid. You may not feel full restriction until dense Proteins (but boy will you fill it )

LumpySpacePrincess 594 Posted April 4, 2014 You will feel the restriction when you get to chunky foods. I thought I was doing something wrong at first, too, because I wouldn't get full. Now I get full very fast! Just stay within your surgeon's volume guidelines and you'll be fine. When in doubt, undereat your sleeve.
Becky78 7 Posted April 4, 2014 I'm 28 days post op, I had surgery at kaiser and we do 1/4 cup or 2 oz, 4 times a day. I would contact the surgeon/dietitian and tell them the issues you're having with being hungry because that has to make you miserable. I've noticed a little bit of hunger coming back in between my Breakfast and lunch meal but still trying to decide if it's mental or actual hunger. Your tummy should tell you when it's had enough, I get a little pressure and know I've had enough and it's usually close to 2 oz every time depends on what I'm eating.
