JacobsMommy 27 Posted April 3, 2014 Hi there, I am thinking about the LapBand to Sleeve revision surgery and my new surgeon said that I would have a drain bag for 7 days. I was wondering if anyone had a drain bag for a week? What did it feel like and did it hurt during and after it was pulled out?
mentalistfan 189 Posted April 3, 2014 Some surgeons use them and some don't, so they are common...that won't be a problem, a friend of mine said it didn't hurt coming out, but everyone is different. My surgeon uses them and it doesn't bother me, I think we will probably be glad to get it out though.
mentalistfan 189 Posted April 3, 2014 I should also say I'm not band to sleeve, I will get a drain tube for regular sleeve procedure. 1 JacobsMommy reacted to this
JacobsMommy 27 Posted April 4, 2014 I should also say I'm not band to sleeve, I will get a drain tube for regular sleeve procedure. Thank you so much for your reply. I haven't gotten a surgery date and yet I am super nervous and the thought of anything else is overwhelming. LOL LOL We will be just fine
Kindle 8,667 Posted April 4, 2014 I had one for 3 days. No big deal. I stuck the drain bulb in a pocket during the day and pinned it to the front inside of my jammies at night so I wouldn't roll over on it. Felt weird coming out but didn't hurt. A friends mom had bypass and had 2 drains for 7 days. She didn't take care of them as instructed, so she had some issues, but she didn't complain too bad. (Probably because it was her fault) 1 JacobsMommy reacted to this
pancake1271 57 Posted April 26, 2014 I'm a band to sleeve revision and no drainage tube here. I guess it all depends on the doctor!
laura71 12 Posted April 30, 2014 I had a drain tube for 2 days. It was a relief to be rid of it, more mental than anything else. good luck! 1 JacobsMommy reacted to this
