tekjr1 22 Posted April 3, 2014 I'm two days post op and came from the hospital yesterday. I'm on week one clear liquids. By constantly sipping all day, I have gotten 50 oz of fluids. I also noticed some hunger pains that were easily curbed with a little sf Jello. Is this about right? Is it normal to have some appetite so soon? It seems I tolerated the fluids and the Jello without any trouble. Thanks for input from those that have been there. 1 beldary reacted to this
FitSmash 8 Posted April 3, 2014 I'm 9 days post op and I had the same issue. I found that it wasn't actually hunger. It was the movement of the gas that they pump in you during surgery. I was mistaking the movement of air for hunger. That may just be me but it sounds the same. Make sure you are getting you recommended Fluid intake and Protein intake and you'll be fine. If you are having you goals and are feeling a hunger beyond that you may want to consult your doctor because the biggest benefit of this surgery especially this soon is not being able to feel hunger. Good luck!
beldary 7 Posted April 3, 2014 Hi there, I am also 2 days out and I find myself being full just from trying to drink the recommended amount. I was thinking man its so nice to be able to drive buy a restaurant and not even be tempted to stop lol, mean while my husband is moaning I'm so hungry lol. LadyCane 12 Posted April 3, 2014 I had my vsg done on the 31st. I lost an entire day somewhere between surgery and today on anti-nausea meds. I was so loopy. I am still just drinking. Tried some yogurt this afternoon but that was a no go. I'm not hungry in the least. My incisions are not sore either which isn't what I was expecting so that's a plus. Overall I'm feeling pretty well. Hope you both are as well!
