ade7870 16 Posted August 16, 2014 I'm so glad to hear from someone in the area!!! Sounds like you are doing great! Who did your surgery? Dr. Watkins is doing mine. How was the pain after? I'm excited but of course a nervous wreck too! I am a nurse with UC Health and live near West Chester. Doing my liquid diet now...day 3...and so far so good! Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Congratulations on such a successful journey
kathywithakay 3 Posted August 16, 2014 Ade7870, I chose Dr. Watkins after researching sleeve surgery for 2 years. I have not one regret. West Chester Hospital and Dr. W's office had everything so perfectly coordinated that the day of my surgery, everything was in order and all I had to do was show up. I had very little post op pain-just a slight feeling like I had been doing sit-ups. No incision pain and I required no pain meds-ever. In fact, I was able to drive myself home the next day, a 45 minute drive. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to PM me. I know you will do great! I was tired for about a week post surgery and they recommend no heavy lifting. Other than that, I went back to my normal activities. I took 1 week off work, just in case. The pre op diet was the hardest part for me but it was all worth the effort. I'm so glad to hear from someone in the area!!! Sounds like you are doing great! Who did your surgery? Peanutz53 9 Posted August 27, 2014 Hi, I am in eastern Cincinnati, and I was sleeved 21 Jan 2014 in Mexico. I would certainly be interested in a meeting, and would help if needed. I have lost about 45 lbs or so, was 218 at the surgery and am at 170 now. The support would be much appreciated!~
tlbailey79 1 Posted August 28, 2014 I live near Wilmington and go to Dayton every week. I am just starting to think about having this surgery done. I would love to talk to people who are going through or have already been through all of this. Where should I start? Who are the best surgeons in the Cincinnati/Dayton area for the VSG? Do any of you have Cigna? How was the insurance approval like with them? Those are the types of questions I have.

Katnipt 0 Posted June 24, 2015 Hello, fellow Buckeyes. My name is Linda and I don't live in your local area. I live in Belmont County on the east/central side of the state. I am 62 years old and just found out my insurance covers bariatric surgery. I have tried for many years to keep my weight under control but to no avail. It has just gotten worse and worse and I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. I have diabetes and high cholesterol and have done what I can with medication and diet to try to diminish them, but that isn't working very well either. I didn't realize how many different types of surgery there are until I came to this site and I would appreciate any direction or suggestions anyone can give. I am so very ready to make this life change and want to make the best and most informed decisions I can. I am most likely looking at having surgery done in Columbus at some future date. I hope all of you are doing well and are happy with your decisions. Any of your input would be extremely valuable to me!! Linda

Schale 3 Posted August 6, 2015 I know this is a very old post but I figured it doesn't hurt to check in and see if a support group was ever put together. If so, I am interested. Please let me know any details that you have to share. Thank

Schale 3 Posted September 7, 2015 I'm in Dayton. I know that tomorrow is a holiday, but would anyone be interested in getting together tomorrow afternoon for a get-together say in the afternoon? Maybe in the Middletown area? If there is interest I'll find somewhere like maybe a coffee shop. I'm thinking somewhere where we could sit for a while and not get kicked out for loitering. Just to meet up and discuss where we are in our journey. Please respond if interested and available.
