For personal reasons I chose not to share my WLS with anybody I work with. I've made no secret that I've been on a strict low calorie diet and I go to the office gym twice a day to walk on the treadmill and ride the stationary bike for 25 to 30 minutes each time. On Monday, one of the secretaries mentioned to me during our morning workout that a bunch of people on the 2nd floor of the office (I work on the 3rd floor) had been talking about me. I asked why and she said they were all abuzz talking about my significant weight loss and how good I looked. I was excited that they had noticed but I really hate being the topic of other people's conversations. Then I went to a meeting, and one of the men in the office said "Wow, you've lost a lot of weight, are you sick?" WTH??? What kind of question is that and why would a person ask that??? It completely negated the positive statements from earlier. I have really mixed feelings. I am excited to be losing weight, feeling better and looking better. I suppose its good to be noticed by others but I am uncomfortable being the topic of office gossip, especially since the jerk asked that stupid question. I suppose I have to take it all if I'm going to continue on this journey as I'm not going to stop losing weight and I can't help but be noticed in my office. I wasn't ready for this part.

Congrats on your weight loss! Please don't mind the office gossip. People will always have something to say but remember what you are doing this for. For the guy, that asked if you were sick, that was callous and please don't let that affect you in any way. Some people have a hard time complimenting without making a snide remark. Keep up with the great work and continue to keep your chin up :-)

Good for you on your success! I'm the only female in my office and can attest that guys can say some stupid things! Please don't take this comment personally; chances are the dude just didn't have a clue how to say something in a positive way. Guys talk to each other like this and they don't realize we females take things a little more personally.

I also have not told anyone about the surgery and am trying to brace myself for what's to come.

Keep up the good work and block out that negative stuff!

I agree men don't really think before they speak, at least they haven't asked if you started using drugs (love my family), just let it go and keep moving forward.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
