Oh yes, very common and not a lot you can do about it. Mine fell out badly for several months, just now starting to slow down a little bit, at least it's down to strands instead of globs coming out now. Lost about 2/3 of my hair.

I have read a lot about Hair loss and mine started about 3 1/3 months out. I've lost almost half the volume of my hair. What I haven't been able to find is how long the loss lasts. Any ideas?

I read earlier it normally last about 6 month but will regrow slowly. Mine use to be strands but it's gotten worse especially today I totally freaked out.

Yep. Same thing is happening to me. Two other people I know told me the same thing. But they also said that it started coming back a few months after it started. It stinks and it's really scary. I'm trying very hard to eat more Protein and am taking Biotin.

Yeah the 3 month mark seems to be just about right. At the 3rd month I started seeing globs of hair in my hand when I washed my hair, then a ton more on the floor when I blow dried. It was scary. But as they say, it will grow back. You will see lots of "baby hair" in the more skimpy areas and they will kind of stick up. I am 5 mths out of surgery and I think I can finally say, the globs has stopped. Now it is down to strands. Lots of it, but just not globs. So that is giving me an indication that the Hair loss is slowing down. Plus I ordered this prodcut from a friend from "it works" and I can't wait to try it. It is for hair and nails. It is packed with Vitamins and minerals for hair.

My doctors office gave me a paper and it stated: if you take your Vitamins and eat all your Protein you should

have a better chance of not loosing hair.< /p>

I started losing my hair between 3and 4 months out. I lost a good bit of the volume of my hair. I started taking Biotin and within a week it has dramatically decreased. I don't know if it's coincidence but I'll take it

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
