My question is does anyone know if I will have to go throw all the proses again cause they never told me anything. I had to say I can't make it for another day cause I just don't know when I can get it done. Plus now I going to be moving out of state.
Bigjkzgrl 40 Posted April 3, 2014 Approval with insurance company is for a certain amount of time. Dont know how much you will need to repeat if cant set a date and let doctor notify insurance. As far as moving out of state. You will have to start completely over if not going to use the same doctor & facility. I work for an insurance company so mostly the same in every company. Once pre authorization is given that normally that has an expiration date. You can call your insurance company they will let you know.

Bigjkzgrl 40 Posted April 3, 2014 You definitely will need to start again. Check for new company coverage as well...if its employer coverage the employer can elect to exclude bariatric services for a cheaper rate. So all of this will play a part in your future coverage. cutiepieinchi 158 Posted April 4, 2014 Approval is usually for a few months-6 months at a time. You will more than likely have to start over if you aren't having surgery within that time period.
angelface811 100 Posted April 4, 2014 So sorry you had to postpone your surgery but it is so understandable with having an ill parent. What a wonderful selfless daughter you are. It is to bad you can't continue with your current insurance perhaps under a cobra plan or by keeping the same address. My approval after going through everything is good for 2 years. This might be a dumb suggestion but perhaps you can explain your situation to your current bariatric doctor's staff. They might have some advice on alternatives.?? Have faith...
