Cychored 3 Posted April 3, 2014 Earlier today I noticed that one of my incisions has a red circle around it and is slightly warm. Will it be okay to wait until the Am to call dr? The pic doesn't do a very good job showing the redness...
septappt 74 Posted April 3, 2014 (edited) Ummmm I would definitely call the doctor right now! There has to be someone on call. Doesn't look good.... Sorry good luck. Better to be safe than sorry! Edited April 3, 2014 by septappt
LipstickLady 25,682 Posted April 3, 2014 Looks more like bruising than infection. I'm thinking you are ok. I'm not a doctor, so do what makes you comfortable.
mentalistfan 189 Posted April 3, 2014 I think it will be fine to wait until in the morning, just call or go in bright and early so you can start antibiotic ASAP

Sboulie 90 Posted April 3, 2014 I thought there should be no yellow puss. That's what my nurse said. I would wait till morning if you can tolerate but then first thing call them. Better safe than sorry. Let us know how it goes!

Cychored 3 Posted April 3, 2014 Thanks for the advice. Was really hoping for smooth sailing
LindafromFlorida 1,542 Posted April 3, 2014 The doc will send you to the ER. Always trust your gut instinct. If you think something is wrong go to the ER. If you are running a fever or having chills, I would worry. Right after surgery we are all a little nervous. What surgery did you have? How long since your surgery? You have redness and bruising which are both normal after surgery. No reason you won't have smooth sailing! Good luck and do what is right for you which is what you think you should do. Jennifer2575 55 Posted April 3, 2014 Thanks for the advice. Was really hoping for smooth sailing . These things can happen. I had a small infection with my csection incision. Get the antibiotics and you will be fine. Just don't procrastinate and let it get worse. You will be fine!!!
able2cope 193 Posted April 3, 2014 how did you get on at the doctors? Hope all is well
Cychored 3 Posted April 3, 2014 I think I was having a reaction to the glue. I've put hydrocortisone on the red part. If not better tomorrow I will be calling the Dr (she's not on the office today-it's a surgery day).
Cychored 3 Posted April 4, 2014 Nurse said it sounds normal. Wash with soap and Water and don't put anything on it. Let it get air. If it goes south over the weekend go to urgent care.
